Partners Graduate Year: 2006) DDSO region you live: Sunmount Comments: Partners In policymaking had a HUGE impact on me.Ive always had a disability but until I went through Partners I never had an understanding of how I could use my personal situation to help others in the same boat.I am a second term Board Member for the Northern Regional Center for Independent livng in Watertown, NY.I also sit on numerous committes /boards in our community which allows me to work with consumers and network with them regarding services in our area. DDSO region you live: Taconic Comments: I still work part time for the Mid-Hudson Regional Early Childhood Direction Center, now located in Newburgh, giving workshops and trainings regarding Special Education and Inclusion. I am also a member of the IDEA Partnership School/Family Learning Community The training I received from Partners has been invaluable and I welcome opportunities to take future trainings to increase my knowledge! I have 4 children and my oldest daughter, Serena, is multiple disabled and turned 13 in December! |

I work closely with the IDEA Partnership and the NYS Commission of Quality of Care and Advocates for Persons with Disabilities. I also co-facilitate the NYS Learning Community for Family and School Collaboration. Partners in Policy Making was one of the best experiences offered to me in my life.
